NexG’s 1905 Smart Reader encompasses both elements of security and functionality. It supports the reading of cards with the latest Enhanced Biometric Access (EBA), where mutual authentication is performed before access to the fingerprint data can be gained. The biometric information is not available for unauthorised card readers.
The reader’s design principles are aligned with the philosophy of EBA: protection of sensitive biometric data is of vital importance. Fingerprint information is hence designed never to leave the reader throughout its life cycle.
Our implementation is fully compliant with the Protection Profile for Smart Card Readers with Biometric Protection, a protocol endorsed and regulated by both National Registration Department of Malaysia and Cybersecurity Malaysia. Our smart reader is the first standalone reader in the market with two (2) SAM slots along with a dual interface that supports EBA cryptographic processing at firmware level.
